Against Time
Editorial Design (2020)
The exhibition revisits the works of 20th-century avant-garde filmmakers whose work was captured on celluloid. Avant-garde cinema is the break of traditional narrative and the introduction of unconventional performances. It calls people’s attention to their preconceived views of film as a storytelling device by considering film as a modern art medium. The transformation from the analog to the digital world converts the celluloid into a digital sensor. By viewing the works of these pioneering artists, this exhibition encourages viewers to keep in mind the vanishing entities of the film world.
